The safety of our employees and clients is our top priority. At Coastal Industries, we believe that a quality product is the result of the highest standards of safety performance. Our team is focused on safely executing every project and we continuously strive to create the safest work environment possible. We take a proactive approach to safety and have implemented several programs to ensure the effectiveness of our safety processes and guidelines.
Our comprehensive safety program includes ongoing safety screenings and trainings to ensure consistent adherence and application of our safety standards.
For new employees, Coastal Industries requires completion of safety orientation and training. Coastal Industries has a zero tolerance drug-free policy, and conducts pre-employment and random drug screening throughout employment. In addition, all new employees must also complete physical and fit for duty exams to ensure they are capable of safely carrying out all duties and tasks of the job.
As part of our ongoing safety efforts, Coastal Industries provides safety training programs by expert consultants, and specialized safety training programs, such as confined space and OSHA 10/30 Hour trainings. We also deliver education on current OSHA guidelines and best practices, and bilingual OSHA trained translators to ensure effective communication of safety information to our staff. We provide job site safety orientations and daily safety evaluations to assess potential risks in work tasks, as well as weekly communications focused on safe practices. When needed on the job, our staff use required personal protective equipment in the field.
In the construction industry, soft tissue injuries are often a challenge, so we have developed an employee stretching program designed by a chiropractor to help employees avoid these types of injuries.
In the rare event that an incident occurs, Coastal Industries is prepared with a safety response team that is ready to respond 24/7, 365 days a year.
We also have the capability to employ full-time safety professionals for client projects when needed.
